They converted to Free Range Egg production in 2009 and two years later they started their own distribution side of the business supplying directly to local butchers, retail shops, restaurants and hotels. The Farm is registered with the Dept of Agriculture Food and the Marine and also with Bord Bia.
Mike has over twenty years experience in the poultry industry having produced hatching eggs from 1995 until 2008. Today Mike looks after the welfare of the hens and the egg production while Christine deals mainly with retailers and distribution. Of course they both regularly help each other out switching sides as required. Multitasking is part of any family business especially as they strive to maintain an EGGcellent delivery service.
No visit would be complete without purchasing a few eggs and we have 2 Eggspress Vending Machines located at the Farm Gate. One dispenses 12 large eggs while the other stocks packs of 20 medium eggs. Simply insert the required amount into the machine and a door pops open allowing you to remove your eggs.
